Digital Past-Futurism, Right Now

If you don’t know what generative art is, this is it

One of the primary focuses of The Creators Project is to ferret out and highlight artists who are creating work that in some way pushes their respective discipline forward by harnessing technology. There are, of course, many ways to do this. Take Alex Peverett, a multi-disciplinary artist who creates truly engaging electronic art work spanning music, video, digital art, analog synthesizers, raster graphics, digital media, and, most interestingly, sprawling installations using obsolete technologies. What he builds is a world completely unto himself. Watching Avocet, for example, is kind of like you’ve fallen asleep and woken up inside a microchip, only able to communicate in fragmented binary code. We love it.
