We're definitely big fans of producer NOSAJ THING's LA glitch-hop rooted tunes. His productions are beautifully haunting—aggressive bass-heavy influences from dubstep intricately laced with a soft electronic edge. His dynamic music can pump you up and take you down on the dance floor, then entrap you in a sweet swoon wonder within minutes. But perhaps what makes his music all the more thrilling are his deus ex machina-esque live performances, equipped with heavenly, mesmerizing visual projections. The backdrops gorgeously mimic his pounding dub beats, then gracefully adorn his smoother, delicate cadences. Today, we've put together a small compilation of some of his most booty-bumping, head-shaking, eye-tantalizing live performances and visuals. This short follows the collaboration between Nosaj and visual artist Aalto (Romain Tardy) at the 2010 Lunchmeat Festival in Prague. Aalto, along with a team of carpenters, spent two weeks constructing the stage design for Nosaj's set. The installation comprises more than 500 polystrene triangles. Here's a short sample of visuals from his Coachella 2011 set, created in collaboration with Fair Enough (Adam Guzman and Julia Tsao). The bold graphic visuals provide a welcome contrast and a sorta 60s vibe when paired with one of Nosaj’s more swoon-worthy beats. At the Downtown Independent in Los Angeles, Nosaj turned the stage into a galaxy of spiraling stars for the third installment of the Brainfeeder Sessions.A mix of his visual show test runs showing the range of styles that animate his sounds. All digital art in collaboration with Fair Enough.Los Angeles-based, this Korean-American artist has graced the motherland once before during his first tour in Seoul in the summer of 2009. We at The Creators Project Korea hope to see him here again soon.
