The First iPad Produced Album?

Casting aside “novelty project” accusations, Doctor Popular’s iPad music’s actually pretty good.

We’ve been anticipating an album recorded and produced entirely on the iPad from the Gorillaz since last month when Damon Albarn announced that one would be available before the holidays, But since then, an iPhone/iPad-produced album has surfaced from San Franciso-based game designer and super nerd Doctor Popular, who tweeted in November, “I’m not sure, but I think my new album could be the first iPad album on Bandcamp.”

The Doc used Nanoloop for iPhone, ThumbJam, SynthPond, Sound Squares, Beat Tap Light, SoundYeah, and FireRecord to make his easy-listening, electro-friendly tunes, and also announced via Twitter that his next album will will be made using Google translates beatbox hack, “or at least a song.” To give you a taste of his music, here’s the video for “Spider.”
