If you’re one of the 28% of 18 to 34 year olds who check Facebook on their smartphone before even getting out of bed, or remember tweeting to Imogen Heap’s “Twitdress” (developed by creator Moritz Waldemeyer) during last year’s Grammy Awards, then this Twitter streaming picture frame, courtesy of Instructables, might be the answer to your #socialmediafixation. We can already think of multiple ways this DIY project can be useful, from early morning news feeds to keeping you updated on breaking news throughout the work day.
The only downside to this project is dropping the $40 (plus shipping) for the #twatch ethernet LCD board from Seeed Studio, but once that arrives in the mail, the rest is easy. You’ll need a 3 by 5 inch picture frame, a sturdy piece of plastic to hold the LCD screen to the frame, and some basic tools like a cutting blade and screwdriver.

After attaching the board to the picture frame (no soldering iron needed!), all you need to do is to plug in the network cable to power on the #twatch, and watch the latest trending topics and tweets stream before your very eyes.
Visit the Instructables How-To for further instruction, more detailed photographs, and tips on where to buy materials. Stay tuned for more prototypes and examples of ways social media tools are, literally, being embedded in our lives.
