Forget Christmas, Madison Square Park is Lighting Up for Halloween

With your favorite, LED’s, of course.

The NY park, which is known for its public art program, is gearing up for a new installation at the end of October. Jim Campbell, an installation artist with an engineering background, will be installing 2 new light installations. The first, Scattered Light, will cover the grass with close to 2,000 hovering LED bulbs custom programmed to blink in a way that creates images of ghostly human silhouettes creeping through the twilight toward onlookers. Campbell’s second installation will be an interactive glass wall that mirrors the activity of passersby.
