This week NASA made history by capturing the best pictures of Pluto humanity has ever seen. They made even more history by releasing an exclusive image of the tiny, oft-anthropomorphized dwarf planet directly through their Instagram account. "Gorgeous Pluto!" NASA writes on the Instagram post. "This is the last and most detailed image of Pluto sent to Earth before the moment of closest approach…about 7,750 miles above the surface."
Scientists are currently analyzing high-resolution snapshots of its gargantuan mountain ranges while netizens meme the celestial body to oblivion and artists make space music in celebration. Will analysis find that the planet is actually inhabited by H.P. Lovecraft's Mi-go aliens? Probably not, but only time will tell.
