Andrew Luck out 2-6 Weeks After This Hit

Andrew Luck will miss 2-6 weeks after lacerating his kidney on this hit.

The Indianapolis Colts announced earlier today that Andrew Luck will miss 2-6 weeks due to a lacerated kidney and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle. The Colts announced the news on their website and, according to head coach Chuck Pagano, the injury occurred early in the fourth quarter against the Denver Broncos when Luck was scrambling to do "everything he could to get the win." According to Albert Breer, this is likely the play where Luck was injured.

It's the first play of the fourth quarter and Luck scrambles to pick up four yards before getting sandwiched by Broncos defenders Danny Trevathan and Vance Walker, who almost folded Luck on top of himself.

"Andrew was sore after the game and was feeling a little worse Monday afternoon so we sent him to get tests."
The tests revealed a laceration in one of Luck's kidneys and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle. The injuries should not require surgery and full recovery from both is expected within two to six weeks.

Luck was slow to get up after the hit, but stayed in the game. He threw a touchdown pass to Ahmad Bradshaw on the very next play, hanging in the pocket long enough to take another big hit. The Colts did win, beating the previously undefeated Denver Broncos, 27-24.
