NHLers Hilariously Discuss Summer Workout Plans After Fighting Each Other

Thanks to a mic'd up Brenden Dillon we saw how chummy he was with Predators forward Austin Watson following a recent tilt.

Everybody hates cardio. And, as odd as it may seem, many professional athletes share the general population's disdain of mildly-strenuous exercise.

While mic'd up during San Jose's 3-1 loss to Nashville on Saturday, Sharks defenceman Brenden Dillon decided to engage Predators forward Austin Watson along the boards with around six minutes to play in the second frame. After a quick, not-so-spirited tilt as both players were at the end of their respective shifts, Dillion engaged Watson again—this time, with friendly conversation.

The rapid progression from pre-fight, to throwing punches at each other's skull, to becoming best buddies in a matter of seconds is something to behold and sheds a humorous light on the often dark topic of fighting in hockey.

A summary of the pleasantries exchanged between the two combatants and (apparently) friends:

Dillon: Hey, fuck off!
Watson: You want it?
Dillon: Yeah!

*Punches exchanged*
*Players sit in penalty box*

Dillon: Hey Wats? We gotta work on our cardio this summer, huh?
Watson: Jeez, I'm dying after like ten seconds man! I'll come see Joey, we'll mix it in.
Dillon: Ahh, Joey doesn't know cardio.
Watson: I know! That's why I'm gonna come see him.
Dillon: *Laughs* I like it.
Watson: Good luck the rest of the year, bud.
Dillon: Thanks, you too, buddy.

A quality stay-at-home defender, Dillon is in his third season with San Jose, putting up 10 points and 56 penalty minutes. Watson, the second-year Predators centre, has 15 points and 92 PIMS through 65 games in 2016-17.

I'm sure we could all use a little Joey in our lives.
