It's kind of amazing this doesn't happen more often, but John Wall picked Kyrie Irving's wide open pocket late in the second quarter Friday night in Washington. Irving was doing the old "walk the dog" gambit (previously taken to absurd heights by his now-teammate LeBron James) to save some seconds on the clock and Wall pounced on it before Irving could properly react and collect the ball. Irving did get his hands on the ball, but Wall was too fast and held on to it, quickly calling timeout from the floor to avoid a jump ball or turnover.Embarrassing, for sure, but the Cleveland possession immediately preceding Irving's turnover might have been worse. After J.R. Smith stole it from Drew Gooden, he passed to Kevin Love at the three point line and Love opened up a clear lane to dunk with a nice pump fake. Unfortunately, he did not quite have the legs to finish the dunk. Instead, he got stuffed by the rim.Nevertheless, the Cavs won 127-89 despite these 15 seconds of ineptitude.[ESPN]
