(For the uninitiated, I broke down the scandal and what it means for Germans earlier this week.) Yesterday, it was revealed that DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach signed a false tax document in 2007 that accounted for the 6.7 million euros as "operating expenses." He had previously claimed not to have known about the off-the-books payment to FIFA until earlier this summer.

France and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been charged in the blackmail case involving a sex tape staring his French teammate Mathieu Valbuena. Benzema reportedly spoke to Valbuena about the tape when they were both recently on duty with the national team.

The big news from last night's round of Champions League matches is that Chelsea managed to win! The team scored a whopping 2 goals, one of which was an own goal, to beat Dynamo Kyiv at home. Also, Bayern Munich kicked the absolute shit out of Arsenal, beating the Gunners 5-1.Not every Bayern player was on top of his game, however. Xabi Alonso did this:
Bayer Leverkusen lost to Roma, 2-3. In two matches, Roma has outscored Leverkusen 7 to 6. I wish these two could play every day. Also, Chicharito scored again (duh). He was, shall we say, excited.
