Listen to David Bowie's Haunting Isolated Vocals on "Lazarus"

The clip from the BBC2 documentary 'The Last Five Years' is a reminder of "a man at the top of his game."

Today (January 9) would have been David Bowie's 70th birthday, so it feels especially apt to honour his artistry right now. On Saturday night (January 7), BBC2 aired "The Last Five Years", a documentary celebrating the final part of Bowie's life with a particular focus on the making of his final album Lazarus. The film features a number of Bowie's friends and collaborators on the record, and includes a studio interview with his longtime producer Tony Visconti. Visconti recounts the final sessions he spent with Bowie, describing him as "a man on top of his game" despite his illness, before playing a moving isolated version of Bowie's vocals on "Lazarus". Visconti adds: "for the four or five minutes he was singing, he would pour his heart out". Watch the clip via the BBC here. (Image via YouTube)
