Awesome Lego Letter Press Prints

Two graphic designers use Lego to create 8-bit pixel art.

Lego bricks have been used for all manner of things, and now this much-loved big kid’s toy is being used for letter pressing. Samuel Cox and Justin LaRosa, who together run Physical Fiction have combined their love of pixel art with the letterpress printing technique—where ink is placed on a raised surface then pressed onto paper—and the result is these charming 8-bit prints.

Created by putting smooth Lego bricks onto a gray Lego base, inking them, and then placing a piece of paper over the design and feeding it through a press, the result is the sort of hi-fi/lo-fi picture you want hanging on your wall. The love affair and inventive uses for these little blocks continues, and long may it do so.
