Creators Remix Roundup Week 9

New Year, new tunes.

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Chris Brown ft. Lil’ Wayne and Busta Rhymes: “Look At Me Now” (prod. by Diplo and Afrojack) Chris Brown released this track on New Years Eve, and it’s especially impressive because each rapper spits faster and faster as the song progresses. Diplo and Afrojack bring the electronic backdrop to produce the first hip-hop heavyweight anthem of the year. We just feel bad for anyone who was waiting outside in line when this beat dropped.

Boys Noize: “Yeah” (AC Slater Bootleg Remix) Brimming with drum and clap machines, this studder heavy version of “Yeah” flows like a wave, building up to a crescendo…more than once. Listen for the sultry female voice who’ll chime in during part two. This song definitely would have been an appropriate way to ring in early New Years Day after, of course, the song before. What else is there to say but, “Yeah”?

Eli Escobar: “Love Thing Part 2” (DJ Mehdi Remix) Still obsessing over a New Year’s catch (or lack thereof)? Then we’re sure this song from New York-based electro-rap artist Eli Escobar will have you back grooving to your own tune in no time at all. DJ Mehdi’s smooth electronic gloss finishes the track, but make sure to check out “Love Thing Part 3” featuring good-girl-gone-bad Amanda Blank.

CREATOR BONUS MIXTAPES
DJ Wordy has made all of his mixtapes from 2009-10 available for free download on his website. If you like the Shanghai sound (or need to get informed) check out the beats of China’s electronic master, who has been heralded as the Chinese Diplo — at least according to GAP China.
