Due to "Popular Demand" DJ Deeon is Officially Coming to the Bloc Weekender

Due to a scheduling clash at least 6400 DJ Deeon fans will be in Butlins for his first UK show.

UPDATE: Congratulations everyone. It worked. DJ Deeon is officially coming to Bloc!

It's hard to believe, I know, but DJ Deeon has never played in the UK. That's right, readers, the forefather of ghetto house—a genre that has been influential in its own right—has never blessed our shores for a show before.

Thankfully that's all about to change, as the Chicago house pioneer touches down to play XOYO on March 11th, the same weekend as the final Bloc Weekender. That means that in a cruel twist of fate, at least 6400 DJ Deeon fans will miss his only show so far, depriving those poor souls of their fix of ghetto house goodness.

It's not all doom and gloom though, a kickstarter has been set up to bring Deeon to Bloc, with the festival's organisers welcoming the legend to their stage with open arms, provided the public can stump up the £3000 necessary to book him. We've done the maths, and if at least half of the festival's attendees chuck in a quid, they have the once in a lifetime opportunity of seeing a ghetto house master and snooker champion Steve Davis control a dancefloor, all in the same weekend.

What a time to be alive indeed.

You can find the kickstarter here.
