The other week New York/Tokyo collab DJ Sprinkles and Mark Fell released two tracks from their new Fresh Insights EP. The pair have made serious moves on one track layering the deepest of house with a recording of a speech by radial left-wing politician Tony Benn. Benn's death last year left his rousing words in minds of many and fit like a glove on the proud and driven production.
With this unlikely but effective pairing in mind, we set about planning reworks of other political speeches. With a general election less than a hundred days away, we consider this a timely and necessary task.

Boris Johnson - Todd TerjeThis pairing would be perfect thanks to Terje's perceptive ability for taking fun seriously. Boris Johnson, after all, is a bit of a clown, only he is also a worryingly powerful clown that people also take really seriously.Expect: Outlandish exotic rhythms and even more outlandish property prices.Margaret Thatcher - Jeff Mills
If there was one thing Maggie loved it was a huge industrial drop. We feel Jeff Mills would serve exactly the sort of ruthless, driven cuts she would have looked for in a rework of one of her speeches.Expect: Proof that the lady was for turning after all.Ed Miliband - Arca
The work of Arca over the last year or so has seen a take on electronic music that has been slippery and difficult to define, with shapes and rhythms that on first approach seem almost unpleasant. This isn't far off Ed Miliband's approach to politics with many of his public appearances falling into the 'difficult first listen' category.Expect: Nu-LabourDavid Cameron - Disclosure
Disclosure have gained haters and fans in huge swathes through their re-packaging of house for the masses. Whilst David Cameron has pulled off a similarly divisive public image, we feel he could learn from the Lawrence brothers. Disclosure suggest, contrary to the bedroom tax, that house should be for everyone right?Expect: Latch ft. Sam CameronNigel Farage - Rødhåd
It used to be that Rødhåd was a secret of Berlin. But in recent years his sets have started moving freely around Europe, including visits to Britain no doubt in order to take advantage of our generous sound systems. We reckon it is time to get Nige behind the 1s and 2s, fag hanging out of his grinning mouth, reppin the best of British over that pesky European techno.
