NFL Dos and Don'ts: Jacksonville Jaguars

What to say about the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are a professional football team in the NFL. What to say, indeed.

As we prepare for another year of NFL football, let's take a look back at the highs and lows from 2014 for each team. Welcome to NFL Dos and Don'ts. If you missed one, you can read all our recaps right here.

Do

First things first, Jacksonville Jaguars: you are a professional football organization in the NFL, the best of the best. You just happen to be one of the worst of the best of the best. But it's like they always say, even the worst student at Harvard Law School still gets to put "Esquire" at the end of his or her name. You should feel some pride in that, even if it means comparing yourself to the dumbest, least competent ambulance chasers out there. So, even if we couldn't find a halfway decent moment from the 2014 season to highlight here, you definitely Do want to be a pro football team. Good on ya.

As it turns out, we were able to find something nice to highlight, and it's a game-winning fumble recovery and touchdown by Aaron Colvin. The Jaguars came back from a 21-0 deficit to beat the Giants 25-24 in Week 13, and this play was the difference maker. It was Jacksonville's second win of the season. If you're going to limit your wins to three or fewer, Do make them depend on exciting plays.

Don't

Don't be the Jacksonville Jaguars. The only thing worse than being bad is being forgettably bad. The Jaguars play one home game a year in London and I bet their season ticket holders don't even care. That's one less opportunity to go get angrily drunk in a parking lot for a couple hours before getting angrier and drunker inside the stadium while you watch your team score nine points in a losing effort to the Steelers.

Rumors have swirled that the Jaguars will eventually move to London as part of the league's plan for global domination. Jags owner Shahid Khan also owns a team that used to play in the Premier League, but have been relegated to the Football League Championship, so this is seen as a logical move. Pretty big implications, but it's the Jaguars so whatever. The NFL's efforts in England have been met with success and enthusiasm; they definitely want the NFL over there, they just don't want the Jags. So, just Don't be the Jacksonville Jaguars, the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ of the NFL.
