Watch the Hypnotizing Video for Chaim's "Blue Shadow"

Psychedelic, melodic techno from Guy Gerber's Rumors label.

Back in high school, before we had a budget for LED installations or a working knowledge of After Effects, we had to get crafty if we wanted psychedelic visuals to accompany our shows at the community center. So we went into a storage closet at school and stole one of those analog projectors—one of the ones where you're supposed to place a transparency on top of a backlit sheet of glass.

Then, one of the band guys' younger sisters would drip colored ink, oil, and a few other slippery solutions onto the lightboard and the result was a restless, technicolor Rorshach blob that stretched over the band and the wall behind them. It was simple, effective, and sexy—much like this video for Chaim's "Blue Shadow," the producer's second single on Guy Gerber's record label, Rumors. Its hypnotic minimalism is perfect for the single, which is a melodic, immersive techno joint that will fit right into Guy Gerber's DJ sets.

Directed & Edited by Hector Dockrill. "Blue Shadow" is out now on Rumors. Keep up with the label on Facebook.
