Calgary Police Make Arrest But Are Still Searching for Missing Five-Year-Old

A suspect is in custody this morning as the hunt continues for Taliyah Marsman.

Calgary police are still searching for a missing five-year-old girl who disappeared earlier this week.

An Amber Alert was issued for Taliyah Leigh Marsman early Tuesday morning after her mother, Sara Baillie, was found dead. Baillie and her daughter were last seen in public on Sunday evening at a Dairy Queen. The 34-year-old was found dead on Monday around 8:30 PM after concerned relatives called police when Baillie didn't show up for work that day. Her death has been ruled a homicide. A suspect taken into custody late Wednesday night is believed to be connected to the mother. But the search for Taliyah continues in a rural area near the city. Police say witnesses reported seeing a young girl who looked like Taliyah walking with a man on Monday morning. She was wearing red or pink boots and carrying a reddish suitcase. Baillie's estranged common-law spouse and Taliyah's father, Colin Marsman, issued a statement through media pleading for information. "With all my heart, I love her sooo much; she is my light! Please allow her to come home to her family," he said Police also say he's been co-operating with investigators. Follow Amil on Twitter
