Kate Brown's Dark and Grimy Photography

Vancouver-based photographer Kate Brown is a hustler. I know this because I have worked with her on many occasions. We went to Las Vegas to cover the AVN Awards for VICE together. She accompanied me when I went to interview a vampire and shot his picture as he fed us red wine. Kate is the perfect partner. Her photography is dark, empathetic and perceptive, always catching a moment no one else really cared to notice, like a pair of dirty underwear slung on the green room floor or a dirty old man holding a box of flowers while checking out some girl's ass. As a person, she is ridiculously optimistic and open-minded. It’s incredibly endearing trait in a hustler. It’s hard to not to fall in love with Kate and her distinct photography that takes us from high fashion to sketchy parties to bathrooms to porn conventions. Hope you're into it, too.
