Trick Or Treat was one of Jonnie Craig's first shoots for Vice back in 2007. He was just a teenager back then, but the shoot kicked ass. It was a bunch of idiots and nice boobs running around in scary masks. We were looking at it the other day and realized that we had some unanswered questions, so we called him up.Vice: So Jonnie, the Trick Or Treat shoot, what was the idea with this one?
Jonnie Craig: Well, it wasn't actually the first idea. For some reason we got really swanky clothes from a bunch of designers that we couldn't get dirty or anything, so we did a really stupid, "scary faces" shoot. Which was terrible. So we had to reshoot in crap clothes that could get messed up. I just wanted to make a bunch of pictures of how I remember Halloween being--going to the middle of nowhere with your friends and having a night of doing whatever you want.So did this evoke the kind of recklessness that you remember happening on Halloween as a kid?
Yeah definitely, that's just around the corner from my house. It's normally the kind of thing we would do.How do you always get girls with killer boobs to pop them out? Are they models or friends?
They're my friends. They didn't seem to have too much of a problem getting their boobs out. Probably because they know they're killer. The guy in the Shell garage looks kinda scared, did he think you were gonna stick him up or something?
Yeah, he didn't really understand what was going on. I'm sure he was expecting a lot worse than a couple of over-aged idiots lobbing some eggs.So the masks, are they just from any Halloween shop?
No, they're from this place that Andy Capper recommended in Angel. He kept them all because they were really expensive and he paid for them. He said he's having his own Halloween party next year, and no one's invited. For more of Jonnie's work, visit his website.JONATHAN ROCKWELL
