Capsule have been putting on near enough the only shows worth a shit in Birmingham for years now. While this is great for people who live in Birmingham it wouldn't really mean much to anyone else were it not for the Capsule gang's annual three day blowout, Supersonic. Based around the Custard Factory, Supersonic has hosted all kinds of bands like Sunn 0))), Circle and High on Fire. They also get guys who used to be in bands like Joe Preston and Michael Gira as well guys who weren't even in bands at any point ever like Aphex Twin and Rod Modell. This year they've got Harmonia, Merzbow, Julian Cope, Harvey Milk, and Earth all heading up a bill that got us so excited we jumped up and down when we were asked to be media partner again. We'll be down there all weekend screening Heavy Metal In Baghdad so come say hello. Listen to a selection of music from the festival below and after the jump…Listen: Earth - "Omens and Portents I - The Driver"Listen: Oxbow - "The Geometry Of Business"Listen: Throne - "Reddleman"Listen: Beestung Lips - "Men Not Worth Their Weight In Words"Listen: D√§lek Paragraphs - "Relentless"Listen: Guapo - "The Planks"Listen: Oren Ambarchi - "Triste Part 1 - Remake"Listen: The Owl Service - "Child Ballad No 49"
