A Cambodian Artist’s Intricate Ink | Monday Insta Illustrator

With his life split between Cambodia and Maine, illustrator Visoth Kakvei presents a fascinating fusion of symbolism and style. He depicts abstract patterns, and imagery ranging from the Statue of Liberty to exotic animals like elephants, seahorses, and stags. He periodically posts zoomed in footage of the delicate line-drawing process, which can be just as mesmerizing as the drawings themselves. Whether in color or black-and-white, his mazelike textures never cease to stir the imagination.
