It’s scientific fact that the human eye can only see up to 3.1 miles in distance. Our eyes hit the horizon, and from there on, the unknown world stays a mystery. In HORIZON, Gianluca Scuderi explores the human relationship with where the earth and sky meet.
The video aims to reconsider “the concept of the horizon,” according to the artist, and contains a montage of 1500 panoramic shots of Sicily to compose an “infinite horizon”. We see two concepts of the horizon, the real horizon with a tangible and limited view, and an imaginary one, a source of innovation and discovery.
