Watch the Trailer for Amazon's Reboot of 'The Tick'

The Mighty Blue Justice is headed back to the small screen in August.

On Wednesday, Amazon dropped a new trailer for its reboot of The Tick, bringing the tongue-in-cheek superhero back to the small screen in all his blue-suited, baritone glory this August. Spoon!

The Tick first came to life as a comic book character created by Ben Edlund back in the 1980s. Edlund's Tick was the best superhero send-up comic series since the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but, like the Turtles themselves, the Tick didn't really come into his own until he got his own TV show.

Fox's mid-90s animated series melted the minds of the American youth with its surrealist running gags and inane catchphrases that enraged a generation of elementary school teachers, but it frustratingly lasted just a few seasons. A 2001 live-action show The Tick starred that guy who played Puddy on Seinfeld, but the series was canned after only nine episodes.

Now, Amazon is pumping fresh blood back into the Tick once again with its own live-action series. This time, Peter Serafinowicz—who definitely has the chin for the part—will star as the titular character. It also looks like the Tick's accountant sidekick, Arthur (played by Griffin Newman), will take on a bigger role in the series than his character has before.

"[Arthur] is the main character," Newman told Entertainment Weekly last November. "He's the one who has the arc. He's the once who gives us the shoes you wear to pass through this universe… it was really important to take this human character seriously and give us a chance to really bond with him and be with him emotionally."

Part one of the first season of The Tick debuts on Amazon August 25, with part two coming in early 2018.
