Hear Diplo's Favorite Unreleased MIA Track

Brand new, right here.

“You can have my money, but you can’t have me,” MIA raps in this new track produced by Diplo that never made it on her /\/\/\Y/\ album but is apparently his favorite track they produced together this go-round. We agree. What do you think?

Oh, and while we’re talking about MIA — our whole beef with that negative article Lynn Hirschberg wrote in NYT was not about whether MIA is a good singer or not — but that whether or not she can sing is beside the point. MIA is a rapper, and if we’re comparing her with anyone, it shouldn’t be Madonna, but other rappers. In that light, all the status stuff in the article totally makes sense. A lot of quality rap is all about mixing stories of dark politically-charged shit with blatant symbols of your own current economic success — gold chains, truffle fries, what have you. It’s difficult to imagine Hirschberg giving a critically acclaimed male rapper such a hard time for enjoying his hard-earned cash. In fact, it seemed like most of her issues had to do with how such a pretty young lady was allowed to be such a successful rapper in the first place, when she should be singing or something. Right? Enjoy the new tune and the gif that goes with it right here. We wonder who she wrote this one for…
