LGBTQ people across the world are rejoicing (the straight women are all yelling "yaaaaaaaasss," also, because that's what they do since they saw it on Broad City) because the inevitable, at last, has happened. Lady Gaga, pop's campest export, finally went on RuPaul's Drag Race – and you know you lived for it, hunty.Sashaying into the workroom on the reality show, where drag queens compete to prove their Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent until one is eventually crowned America's Next Drag Superstar, Gaga convinced the queens that she herself was a Gaga impersonator, before revealing her true identity:After doling out some advice to the queens and comforting a sobbing Eureka (which, tbh, same), Gaga then lead everyone in a singalong to "Supermodel," one of the most recognisable songs by the show's host RuPaul – a fine musician in his own right:Turn to the left!It feels as though Gaga, herself a bisexual woman and an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ rights, is long overdue an appearance on the show, which just started its ninth season and can be watched weekly in the UK on Netflix, but now she's done it, it's just what we were waiting for. She rounded off her turn by judging a runway round where the queens has to dress in an iconic Gaga look, and, reader, she cried. Long live Gaga, and long live RuPaul's Drag Race (Nina Bo'bina Brown to win amirite?). File this moment next to that time Adele pretended she was an Adele impersonator, in a roomful of competing Adele impersonators.
