At 20 years old, Tkay Maidza has already lived many lives. Among them, she’s been a rising tennis star who trained with Lleyton Hewitt’s former coach, and an academic overachiever who graduated high school at 16 before studying architecture at university.

But Maidza is known for another of her passions: music. She decided to drop out of uni to focus on her hip-hop career after her debut single “Brontosaurus” began attracting attention well beyond her local music scene in Adelaide.
Since then, she’s toured with Charli XCX and collaborated with Killer Mike on her first album, Tkay.
Nike featured Maidza as part of Air Max Month. You can watch the video below, where she talks about the freedom that comes with songwriting and her lifelong love of art and images.
