The New York Knicks and Amar’e Stoudemire agreed to a buyout last night, marking the end of the Stat City era. Today, Amar’e penned a goodbye poem to the city he will always call home, shouting out famous names and places, including Jay-Z, Wall Street, and Diddy—I guess it’s tough finding something to rhyme with “city.” He also gave a shoutout to Anna Wintour, which leads me to believe Amar’e Stoudemire and I have had very different New York experiences, weirdly.
Here is the poem, reprinted, with cut and paste, from Instagram.
