Song Exploder is a podcast where musicians deconstruct their songs and tell the stories behind how they were made. In the past, it’s explored tracks from Game of Thrones to tUnE-yArDs and more. In the newest episode, musician, creator, and host Hrishikesh Hirway and Arcade Fire’s Will Butler break down “Anna” from his first solo album,
Policy.
Will Butler is a member of the band Arcade Fire, and he co-wrote the score for the film Her, which earned him an Oscar nomination. In March 2015, he put out his first solo album, Policy. This interview was recorded live at SXSW. Buy “Anna” on iTunes here.
