CYNTHIA CONNOLLY OPENING

Before you do anything else tonight, you should stop by Cynthia Connolly's opening at the Quality Mending Co, where Eleven used to be(/still is?).

For those of you whose older brothers weren't into DC hardcore in the late 80s (and eventually auto-theft), Cynthia wrote the book on it. Or rather she took pictures of the book on it. Sorry, still not right. She took a bunch of classic photos of all the bands orbiting the Dischord Records axis and then made a book of them called Banned in DC, and that became the book on it. She was also involved with Aaron Rose's Alleged gallery back in the Lower East Side's salad days and has been curating really good exhibits across the country for nigh on 15 years.

The photos tonight are all from Alabama, and look a little something like this…
