If you’re a band, playing covers is a bit like doing nitrous. There’s the buzz you get, which is kind of giggle inducing. Then there’sthe guilty pleasure-ness of it all where you go: ok we can do this once every now and then but we don’t want to be doing this all the time… do we? And then there’s this long pause before everyone else slowly and halfheartedly nods their agreement.
