Photographer Milton Tan has released a captivating sequel to The Air Traffic, his aeronautical timelapse experiments that were featured on the Discovery channel last year. The Air Traffic 2 embraces the same airborne light art aesthetic that made The Air Traffic so popular, except this time Tan shot “so close to the planes that [his] cameras literally got shaken by the rumbles from the jet engines,” explains his Vimeo description.

Tan explained in an email that he shot the footage in the restricted runway area of Singapore’s Changi airport, yielding images of planes that look like giant shooting stars. For people used to getting stuck in plane traffic, Tan’s short is a refreshing (or even uplifting) take on the beauty hidden within airports.
