Is Steve Aoki the next Tom Ford? Mabye not, but the DJ/businessman/cakethrower is getting into the eyewear game with a new limited edition line of glasses. The six frames are part of the Steve Aoki Collection for Dim Mak, and feature as few vowels as possible in their names (e.g. LGHT_YRS, TRNSND).
Aoki announced the line today on Twitter after teasing the launch since May. Each pair is priced at a reasonable $60 and comes in a variety of colors. This isn’t Aoki’s first foray into fashion. In 2013, he partnered with Shaun Neff’s action sports clothing line Neff for a range of t-shirts and promised a Dim Mak denim line in the future. The DJ has been in talks with Australian designer George Gorrow (former Ksubi designer) for two years about the eyewear collection. Gorrow is partnered with Aoki on their West Hollywood restaurant Eveleigh and with Will.i.am on a eyewear range for the Black Eyed Peas frontman.
