Bleachers Return With Joyously Tormented New Song “Hate That You Know Me,” Featuring Carly Rae Jepsen

Between working with pop titans Lorde and Carly Rae Jepsen, Jack Antonoff somehow found time to write for his own uber-pop project Bleachers last year. He took to Beats 1 today to debut “Hate That You Know Me,” the second single from the band’s forthcoming album Gone Now. It’s a bubblegum funk number with anxious verses leading into a gigantic, ironically cheery chorus featuring Jepsen, Sam Dew, and many more on backing vocals.

Antonoff spoke to Zane Lowe about the song, describing that its goal is to get “people somewhere in the world dancing and somewhere in the world weeping in bed at the same time.” He also discusses working with Atlanta rap production legends Organized Noize on Gone Now, calling them “my favourite music.” Listen to both “Hate That You Know Me” and Bleachers’ Beats 1 interview below.
