Vibing Out With T Williams

Disclosure's #1 tour mate on growing up with jungle, cutting dubplates, grime, and injecting big bad bass vibes into house music.

For our latest episodes of Supersonic, we headed to Mountain Oasis Festival (October 25-27) in Asheville, North Carolina. In its debut year, the festival presented an impressive line-up spanning from Nine Inch
Nails and Gary Numan to Bassnectar and Disclosure, playing in clubs and arenas throughout the Downtown area—kind of like a mini-SXSW for the mountain set. While there we interviewed Cut Copy, Mount Kimbie, Silver Apples, and T. Williams about what goes into making their music.

Boy wonders Disclosure recently took Tesfa on a tour all around the US of A, but while you may have only recently heard his name, he's been producing for years—except in the grime scene not the 4/4 world. T Willy is a wizard behind the production boards—check out this ultra-helpful Logic Masterclass he did for the Point Blank music school, why don't you?—and the "decks," and in this video we find out how he got his start as a youngster, his philosophy on DJing, and how he approaches making choons, bruv.
