Creators Remix Roundup Week 35

Interpol, DJ Mehdi, Bassnectar and Mira Calix’s top 10 headphone albums…

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Interpol: “The Undoing” (MOTHS remix)

The story goes that 17-year-old Jack Colleran of Ireland-based MOTHS was studying for exams when Interpol approached him to remix one of their songs to include in a remix album. He turned the solid rock hit into a more ambient and focused experience, letting us discover Interpol in a whole new way—kind of how we felt when we saw David Lynch‘s animation set to Interpol’s “Lights.”

DJ Mehdi: “Tunisia Bambaata” (F.U.N.K.Y. edit)

Lyon-based producer Thomas Martin aka F.U.N.K.Y. has completely turned DJ Mehdi‘s “Tunisia Bambaata” upside down, giving the slick house jam some funky guitar riffs and effects to elevate the Michael Jackson-esque stylings. Everyone on the internet seems to think that the remix has given the tune more “swag,” but we’ll let you decide that for yourselves. Good times.
