Guggenheim Announces Judges for "YouTube Play" Exhibition

An all-star panel of international, multi-disciplinary judges announced for YouTubePlay.

Last month we told you about a new, innovative video art exhibition from the folks at the Solomon R. Guggenheim museum and YouTube. The exhibition, entitled YouTube Play, was inaugurated with an open call for entries via a special YouTube website where members of the public could submit recent work for consideration.

On Friday, the museum announced the highly anticipated list of judges who will be responsible for selecting the 20 works featured in the Guggenheim’s video biennial this October. The all-star cast of artists, filmmakers and tastemakers includes: Takashi Murakami, Ryan McGinley, Douglas Gordon, Marilyn Minter, Stefan Sagmeister, Laurie Anderson, Animal Collective, Darren Aronofsky, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

The winning entries will be shown at all the Guggenheim's international branches, as well as on the YouTube Play channel. This week is the last week for submissions as the final deadline is July 31st. Visit the project’s website for more information and submission instructions.
