Listen Back to Frank Ocean's Fourth Blonded Radio Episode

Tracks from Kendrick, Lil Uzi Vert, and Schoolboy Q sat next to Boards of Canada and the 'Twin Peaks' theme on a typically eclectic mix.

Frank Ocean's Blonded Radio show on Beats 1 has become a sporadic routine over the last few weeks, not quite regular enough to adjust a Saturday Night for in advance, but exciting and high-quality enough to scrap the playlist at a party and tune into Ocean's mind for a couple hours. Last night, Ocean closed Blonded 004 out with another new song, "Lens," and followed it up with a Travis Scott-featuring remix immediately afterwards.

The 18 tracks before that were, as ever, a fascinatingly eclectic bunch. Frank opened up with the frictionlessly smooth one-two of Budgie's recent track "Confession" and Deniece Williams's 1976 single "Free." The playlist was more focused on hip-hop than normal: Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti, and Tee Grizzley, who've all come out with full-length projects in the last few weeks, get spots; Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Smino, Schoolboy Q all appear. But there are left turns with cult Scottish electronic legends Boards of Canada and Angelo Badalamenti and Julee Cruise's "Falling," the Twin Peaks theme.
