Beyoncè took the stage to accept her award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her Lemonade film and album at the 2017 Grammys. In her speech, she mentioned that Lemonade was meant to give a voice to the pain of people who are typically silenced. She also touched on the importance of such awards, mentioning how crucial it is for young children of all colors to see themselves represented in everything they absorb.
