Thirsty-Ass NFL Twitter Account Congratulates Jordan Rodgers on Winning 'The Bachelorette'

The NFL wants to get in on the sweet, sweet virality of The Bachelorette.

Congrats, @JRodgers11 & @JoelleFletcher! #TheBachelorettehttps://t.co/qVKmVHLPVw
— NFL (@NFL) August 2, 2016

Jordan Rodgers, who in the very loosest of terms can be considered a former NFL quarterback, won The Bachelorette, a dating game show where two people fall in love over several weeks of scripted interactions. Jordan, the sort-of-estranged brother of actual NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, survived the process-of-elimination-via-rose gambit and is now engaged (???) to a woman named JoJo. Which is nice, since they can be referred to as JoJoJo, or Jo³, or Jo Cubed in future items about their impending split.

After Jordan won the starting spot in JoJo's heart last night, the NFL tweeted a congratulatory video featuring highlights from his collegiate career set to some wannabe Natalie Imbruglia tune. Why collegiate highlights? Because Jordan Rodgers' pro career is only just barely more impressive than mine. Reading his Professional Career section over at Wikipedia is…economical.

I think his tenure with the Dolphins might be the most soul crushing. But he's moved on from his pro career and is focusing his energies elsewhere, like trading thinly-veiled barbs with his brother, and competing on rubbernecking-a-trainwreck TV shows. Nearly 8.5 million people watched the episode last night, though, which explains why the thirsty-ass NFL—consumed with broadcasting The Shield to as many people as possible—decided to tweet about a guy who did not adequately challenge third-string quarterback Pat Devlin.
