Does This Mean We're Not Assholes

Last March we published a photo essay by Jen Osborne called "Street Wear". The article featured ten women from the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, an area well-known for its large population of drug addicts and marginalised people. The response to the photos was huge. A lot of you thought we were humongous assholes exploiting peoples' problems without remorse, while others thought the pictures were an honest look at one of the poorest and most troubled neighborhoods in Canada.

"Street Wear" was part of a larger project by Jen called Tough Blood, which features photos of a much greater selection of Downtown Eastside residents. e-photoreview, an Italian photography newsletter, recently published the above interview with her about the series. Whatever your opinion of our article was, hows about giving this video a watch and hearing Jen's side of the story?
