Halloween is coming early to Brooklyn thanks to badass party curators and queer art collective The Culture Whore, who have taken it upon themselves to unlock the Chamber of Secrets on Saturday, October 24, in the form of a terrifying, techno-fueled indoor rave. Led by Mark Dommu and Paul Leopold, The Culture Whore has hosted a string of immersive parties celebrating Brooklyn’s queer art community, including the HOGWARTZ RAVE two Halloweens ago.
This time around, they will transform a particular warehouse into the Chamber of Secrets—with the same setup as a haunted house—with gigs from some of New York’s most exciting underground beatmakers: Michael Magnan (SHADE, 11:11), Bearcat (Discwoman), Katie Rex (Factory Girls), and David Djsokolowski (Psychic Brooklyn). The party will also feature performance shows from hip-hop duo Banjee Report, trans showgirl Charlene, Bottoms frontman Jake Dibeler, and drag artist Lucy Balls.

Rounding out this local-centric, all-star lineup, the party will be hosted by a coterie of queer artists including Bushwig co-founder Horrorchata, rapper Will Sheridan, Irish-born cyber-pop sensation Neocamp, installation artist Julia Sinelnikova (AKA The Oracle), and avant-garde designer duo TillyandWilliam.
“We’re descending into the depths of Hogwarts and up Salazar Slytherin’s asshole for a night of magical mayhem,” Dommu told us over email. “Did you know Voldemort was a power top? You do now.”
“The look is Death Eater chic,” he continued. “Think, ‘What if Bellatrix Lestrange lived in Bushwick and was into techno?’”
Bearcat’s half-hour mix for the event, which throws you down all the twists and turns of the city’s dark electronic sounds, can be streamed below.
