Following up his wonderful Esperanto Slang album that dropped on Brooklyn label Bastard Jazz last year, the gumbo funk ambassador Captain Planet is back in super-producer form with a new track alongside his partner-in-bass Chico Manna, AKA Marqos Garcia of the New York afrobeat collective Antibalas.
On the new EP, fittingly titled More Slang, the duo is back with a fluttering mid-tempo gem “Aguacero, which rides off of Chico’s uplifting vocal prowess and Captain Planet’s own chilled-out global bass stylings. Check it out below.
