Conservatives are fuming over Cheesecake Factory staff harassing a guy in a MAGA hat

Trump supporters are livid over an incident where a man in a MAGA hat was harassed at a Miami Cheesecake Factory, with some even calling for a boycott.

A small group of staffers reportedly yelled at Eugenior Joseph, a 22-year-old black man wearing a Make America Great Again hat, and made threatening gestures toward him on Sunday, according to The Daily Wire, citing multiple witnesses, including Joseph.

The conservative news outlet reported that one employee was making gestures “that appeared to indicate that he was ready to engage in a fistfight.”

“He got behind me and another coworker came by and they were staring at each other and he fist-bumped him and then he started looking at me, balling his fists, smacking his fists, trying to scare me,” Joseph said.

In response, many conservatives took to Reddit and Twitter to voice their criticism of the restaurant. Ann Coulter tweeted out the Daily Wire story and tagged the Cheesecake Factory.

“You should give Eugenior Joseph cheesecake for life,” Coulter wrote in a separate tweet.

David Clarke, a senior adviser for America First Action PAC and former Milwaukee County Sheriff with a large following on Twitter, also called out the Cheesecake Factory for the incident.

“Think Cheescake [sic] Factory will close all their stores for a day of race sensitivity training for EVERY EMPLOYEE at a cost of $16 million like Starbucks?” Clarke tweeted. “Using the left’s warped logic, the fact that he’s a @realDonaldTrump supporter negates his blackness.”

Many other conservatives tweeted messages against the restaurant employees, some even including a #BoycottCheesecakeFactory hashtag.

In response to the article, Alethea Rowe, senior director of Public Relations at The Cheesecake Factory, which boasts around 200 locations mostly in the U.S., released a statement that the employees have been suspended.

“No guest should ever feel unwelcome in one of our restaurants, and we are taking this matter very seriously,” Rowe wrote in a statement. “Upon learning of this incident, we immediately apologized to the guests in person. We are conducting an investigation and will take the appropriate corrective action.”
