Our Creators are a talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always overflowing with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn’t keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.
Florence + the Machine: “Cosmic Love” (Cemoa Remix)
Videos by VICE
Cemoa is a relatively unknown producer based out of Cleveland, Ohio, currently making the blog circuit for his remix of Florence + the Machine‘s “Cosmic Love.” The remixed track complements Florence Welch’s ethereal vocals with equally celestial synths and a soft, downtempo beat. Although Cemoa is new in the music-sphere, we’re expecting big things from this guy.
Katy B: “Witches Brew” (Diplo Remix)
Diplo has an inexplicable talent for taking just about any song and making it sound incredible. His latest? UK musician Katy B‘s “Witches Brew.” By laying a powerful, electronic drum track and extending the original by more than a minute, Diplo invigorates an otherwise formulaic, sort-of-average pop song.
Yuksek: “Off The Wall” (Brodinski Remix)
Brodinski, French DJ and producer, pays tribute to his beloved country in his remix of Yuksek‘s “Off The Wall.” Turning the classically indie-pop song into a techno jam-out, Brodinski keeps the superior quality of the track while simply switching genres—a feat more easily said than done.
