Here's a quick lesson on how to cash in all the good will accumulated from a bonkers playoff game comeback in less than 24 hours: equate a football game to civil rights activism. It's really that easy. The Seahawks tweeted and then deleted the message above today, Martin Luther King Day, with an image of Russell Wilson (who is openly religious) crying after Seattle's improbable win and a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote about faith and perseverance. Also included is the text "We shall overcome." And a hashtag.

Man, this is so stupid. Does anyone actually think Seattle is comparing their comeback and the faith they most definitely had in themselves to overcome to MLK? I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that, but maybe some think this is an organization so completely in love with its own narrative that it was done in earnest. To me, though, it seems like some idiot run amok on the Twitter account who thought it would be a nice bit of synergy to tweet something MLK-related today. Whatever the case, it's been deleted because it was an obvious misfire.
