Bassnectar May Have Just Confirmed Plans for His Very Own Festival

Hold on to your shorts bass heads.

There are few things Bassnectar's devoted legion of fans, commonly referred to as Bass Heads, could dream of more than a multi-day festival curated by Lorin Ashton himself. Earlier in the summer, a group of fans even went so far as to petition the creation of a Bassnectar festival booked and run by the artist and his creative team, bringing in over 10,000 signatures at the time of this post. Now it seems that Ashton, who's recently suffered irritating sound ordinances at his longtime haunt Red Rocks (a venue he says he will not continue to play), may be game. Here's why:

Just last night a mysterious post went live on Bassnectar.net, titled "Bassnectar Chocolate," in which Ashton talks about some Willy Wonka-themed ticket giveaway for the festival in which tickets to an event would be hidden inside bars of golden chocolate (organic cacao from the Ecuadorian Andes that is), providing free weekend admission to next year's Bass Center 2016, an alleged weekend camping fest. It seems however someone jumped the gun on the post as it was quickly deleted, only after a variety of attentive fans grabbed screen shots of the whole shebang.

Now the post has actually gone back live on Nectar's website, though a few details have been changed, mainly the absence of 'weekend' in the mention of details to what the winning golden tickets would provide—possibly a move to throw of eager speculators. In a tweet below, the artist does confirm the existence of Bass Center 2016, though we don't know entirely what that means. For years, the artist has thrown mini one-day Bassnectar festivals at venues and arenas, called Bass Center. Check out the tweet below, in which we are promised more info in the near future. Either way, for lovers of the Nectar—this should be good.
