Dazzling Dummies Dance To The Beat

Projection mapped mannequins brighten up this music video for Mille.

Visual FX studio Upper First have created this colourful eyegasm for New Wave Swedish glamster Mille and the track "Crysteena." With a black and neon aesthetic that feels very zeitgeist-y in these Tron-saturated times, the video makes us wonder if this is what dance clubs of the future will look like.

Upper First achieved the dazzling effect by projection mapping visuals onto mannequins using a projector and VJ software Modul8. The bold graphics and patterns “clothe” the dolls, resulting in a fickle change of virtual garments in time with the music. It’s a visually striking video that acts as a fitting accompaniment to the electro pulse of the track, and it’s also refreshing to see projection mapping being used to manipulate something other than the outside of a building.
