What do you get when you combine the talents of 15 digital artists from 10 countries across the world? Creative differences? An impassioned debate on After Effects versus Cinema 4D? Maybe. But one thing you definitely get is a film called Parasite Choi. Because this was the collaborative struggle of Murat Pak, Tim Borgmann, Gabor Ekes, Andrey Nepomnyaschev, Ben Reubold, CAOH, Chimera Studio, Emrah Gonulkirmaz, Icecream, Kim Holm, Monologue, Tom Waterhouse, OUKA Studio, Sam Spreckley, and Ihsu Yoon who teamed up to form some kind of Power Ranger mecha of motion designers, sound designers, and animation studios. The resulting ten minute opus is worth every moment of your boss’s precious time—the story starts with a woman choking up some horrid black blood in the dusty desert, parasitic black blood which seems to have a life of its own. Think the alien symbiote from Spiderman. And then, as her infected form drags itself across the barren land it ends with… only kidding! Check out the full film above and some stills below to further appreciate those wonderfully rendered motion graphics. If nothing else, the fact that these guys managed to make the film without killing—or at least slandering—each other, should be an example to nations and politicians the world over.@stewart23rd
