PAMELA ANDERSON BREAKS RECORD. CELEBRATES WITH PAINFUL POEMThe next issue ofPlayboywill have Pamela Anderson on the cover. Which means she'll officially have been on the cover more times than anyone else in the magazine's history. I feel like once you reach the stage where the only cover concept left is "Pamela wears a ballgown to bathe in the fountain of Photoshopped youth," it might be time to call it quits. But whatever, well done her I guess. The real story here though, is that she wrote a poem to go with the shoot. There's only a small portion available right now, but boy is it amazing."The youth … The wild that rose up from the ashes. The adults … Living and dead that fought for our rights … Artists … Sweet artists …. Hold on … Crazy, the world goes on … And goes …."
Holy…… Shit. Am I excited….. To read….. The rest of that piece…..of shit….. PS - Can you imagine how smug the "Notes onJersey Shore" article by Bret Easton Ellis is going to be? I bet you a squillion pounds that, though you would think a man as smart and counter-cultural as Bret would hateJersey Shore, he actually LOVES it! And he loves it for reasons that are WAY more deep and intellectual (and smug) than the other 6 million people that watch it.WORLD'S MOST HILARIOUS PROTEST UNCOVEREDThe people in the above picture are from some church in Florida. It was taken last week while they were protesting against Ricky Martin. From theirpress release:"On November 2nd, 2010, Univision broadcast a program called: Ricky Martin… Without Secrets, in which he spoke of having his first sexual encounter when he was 15 years of age and that, after having slept with women, he had relations with men. Afterward he felt confused until one day when he was being interviewed he felt attracted to the reporter who was interviewing him. To the point of falling in love with that man. Presenting himself as being ultra-successful, showing images of his $10 million house, riding a sport motorcycle through the streets, walking through the beach and then, showing images of his concert, in front of thousands of young folk, he presents himself as the role model to follow for the children who watched the program at the child friendly hour of 7 to 8 pm. As people who value the principles that gave birth to this nation, we have decided to say 'enough' with these shows that violate the innocence of our kids and promote confusion at a time in which our youth are developing."
I understand their frustration. It must be hard seeing gays riding their "sport motorcycles" to their $10 million houses while the best straight role models you can offer your kids are people willing to give up their weekends to protest against the guy who sang "She Bangs". I certainly know which sexuality I'd choose.ASKING A GAY CELEBRITY IF HE IS GAY IS BASICALLY MURDERSpeaking of gays, remember when Kevin Spacey got mugged while outcruisingwalking his dog at 4AM? And people started saying he was a closet homo and you were all "Wait, he isn't out? But he's really really gay"? And then you remembered there was a period when people believed Elton John was straight too, and you were like "Oh yeah, people are dumb"? Well during aninterview with The Daily Beast, Kevin got asked about this:DAILY BEAST: We gay men have always proudly claimed you as a member of our tribe, and yet you don't proudly claim us back. Why?KEVIN SPACEY: Look, I might have lived in England for the last several years but I'm still an American citizen and I have not given up my right to privacy. But that's where we differ. I don't think being gay is a private matter. Heterosexuals don't consider their heterosexuality itself a private matter. I'm not asking you what goes on behind a locked door anymore than I would ask a heterosexual. I'm not asking if you're a top or bottom. That's none of my business. Let's enlarge the subject even more. I think what we have seen in terms of gay teenagers committing suicide because of bullying is anguishing. I think young people, if they are feeling like they are confused, need to know that there are people to talk to and that there are places they can go and not feel alone. But I feel that they have just as many rights as I do to not be bullied. And I don't understand people who say, "Well, this is a terrible thing that is happening to this young person whose life is being exposed," and then turn around and do it to another person. People have different reasons for the way they live their lives. You cannot put everyone's reasons in the same box. It's just a line I've never crossed and never will.So just to be clear, Kevin Spacey, a famous gay man, thinks that the media asking him questions about his personal life (while he is using them as a platform to promote his films) is the same thing as someone being bullied so severely that they kill themselves. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!11oneTHIS IS ALSO SOMETHING TO DO WITH SOMETHING ELSE IN THIS BLOGAnd finally, to segue from a segue, I want to present the single greatest scene from a movie ever. I feel like, even though it's old, I can post it here because I just mentioned Kevin Spacey (and it's fromPay it Forward, which stars Kevin Spacey as a patronising, unintentionally hilarious jerk made of wet tissue paper).Ridiculous, racist and poorly written? Yes. But I'm just glad Hollywood finally grew the balls to take a stand against the age old problem of superficially wounded black gang members getting priority over critically-ill rich white children in hospitals.
